Robert Hooker has lived in the Inland Empire since 1963, residing in both San Bernardino and Redlands. He returned to the area after college and became a property manager for a company which purchased foreclosed residential properties. He was responsible for overseeing all rehabilitation and rentals. He later worked for a large privately held homebuilding company where he was responsible for all land acquisitions for the company throughout Southern California.

He joined Ryland Homes (a Fortune 500 Company) as a Vice President in 2003 and was designated the task of establishing its presence in the Inland Empire. By 2006 he, along with others, built the division from a 4 person operation into the second highest grossing division among the company’s 28 nationwide operations, employing 220 people. Hooker has served on the Board of Directors for the Building Industry Association and has been active in furthering the cause of housing since 1988. In 2007 Hooker was designated a “Real Estate Specialist” by the Robert Allen Institute after completing extensive educational courses focusing on residential foreclosed properties.

Hooker believes strongly in the purpose of the Inland Empire Economic Recovery Corporation. He is honored to serve as its Executive Director and looks forward to the challenges and successes that lie ahead.
